Ranky is operated by Lorenzo Catalli. In this policy, "Ranky", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Lorenzo Catalli as the provider of the Ranky service.

Information We Collect

We collect information needed to create an account, run matches, show profiles, and keep the app working.

• Account and authentication data: email address, authentication user ID, authentication provider, email verification status, first name, last name, and session cookies.
• (Optional) Profile data: profile photo, description, birth date, mobile number, nationality, gender, preferred court position, external ranking ID, selected level, rating history, and onboarding state.
• Match and activity data: matches you create or join, match applications, team and court positions, guest names entered by organizers, venues, scores, results, ratings, leaderboards, badges, notifications, and match chat messages.
• Push notification data: push notification tokens, notification preferences, device platform, locale, registration dates, and refresh dates.
• External ranking data: public padel ranking, tournament, league, team, and player data from external ranking sources when you search rankings or link an external ranking ID.

How We Use Information

• To create and secure your account, keep you signed in, and verify your identity.
• To show your profile, rankings, match history, level, public stats, and leaderboard entries.
• To let users create matches, apply to matches, join matches, submit results, and use match chat.
• To send in-app notifications and, if you enable them, push notifications about match activity.
• To provide account support, password reset, email verification, and account deletion.
• To monitor reliability, prevent abuse, debug errors, protect the service, and comply with law.

Legal Basis

If GDPR or similar law applies, we process personal data on these legal bases:

• Contract: to provide Ranky features you request, including accounts, profiles, matches, chat, rankings, notifications, and account deletion.
• Consent: when you grant optional permissions such as push notifications or calendar access, and for any marketing messages if we ask for separate consent.
• Legitimate interests: to keep Ranky secure, prevent abuse, understand app usage, debug issues, maintain historical match integrity, and improve the service.
• Legal obligations: where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with law, regulators, or valid legal requests.

Information Visible To Other Users

Ranky is a social sports app, so some information is visible to other users. This can include your name, profile photo, description, age derived from birth date, nationality, gender, preferred court position, external ranking ID, level, public stats, leaderboard entries, match participation, match results, and relevant match application details. Match chat messages are visible to the users who have access to that match conversation.

Device Permissions

• Location: Ranky does not collect precise real-time location from your device. Match venues may have stored addresses and coordinates selected in the app.
• Push notifications: if you enable push notifications, Ranky stores a notification token for that browser or device so notifications can be delivered.
• Calendar: if you choose to add a match to your calendar, Ranky sends the match title, time, venue, description, and link to your device calendar or selected calendar provider.
• Photos: if you upload a profile image, Ranky processes and stores that image so it can be displayed in your profile and app surfaces.

Artificial Intelligence

Ranky does not currently use artificial intelligence providers to process your personal data or provide app features. Rating, leaderboard, and prediction features are generated from app data and application logic, not by sending your personal data to an AI service.

Cookies And Local Storage

Ranky uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember app-session state. The authentication system may use browser storage to maintain authentication state. Ranky also uses local storage for preferences such as language and push-token refresh timing. These storage mechanisms are needed for the app to work properly.

Third Parties And Processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only when needed to operate Ranky, comply with law, or protect users and the service.

• Authentication and notification providers: account authentication, third-party sign-in if you choose it, session verification, email verification, password reset, and push notifications.
• App store and operating-system platform providers: app distribution, operating-system permissions, push notification delivery paths, and platform review or compliance processes.
• Calendar providers: only when you choose to add a match to a calendar through a device calendar or external calendar provider.
• Public ranking sources: public ranking and tournament data may be used to power ranking features and linked player profiles.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect our rights, to investigate abuse or fraud, or to protect the safety of users or others.

International Transfers

Ranky and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. When applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as processor terms, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent legal mechanisms.

Retention And Account Deletion

We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide Ranky, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and preserve match and leaderboard integrity.

You can request account deletion in the app or by contacting info@rankyapp.eu. Account deletion may be blocked while you are part of an open or confirmed match, or while you have a pending match application, because those records affect other users.

When an account is deleted, Ranky removes private rows such as notifications, notification preferences, push-device registrations, private filters, and unread/read state. Ranky also clears personal profile fields, removes the public profile from active user surfaces, and changes historical references to show "Deleted User". Historical match, result, leaderboard, and conversation records may remain so that other users' match history and scores stay consistent.

Automated Decisions

Ranky calculates ratings, leaderboard positions, statistics, and match predictions from app data. These features affect how information is displayed in the app, but Ranky does not use solely automated decisions to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to the processing of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, such as by disabling push notifications in the app or through your device settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data, including access controls, authenticated sessions, managed cloud infrastructure, and secure handling of authentication and database credentials.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Ranky changes or when legal, technical, or operational requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Ranky after an update means you accept the updated policy.
